📍 Ports of call include: Nouméa (New Caledonia) · Port Vila (Vanuatu) · Mystery Island (Vanuatu)

Why cruise with our group?

  • Safety & Comfort: Travel with confidence in a welcoming, inclusive, and professionally hosted environment.
  • Connection & Fun: Make lasting friendships with like-minded travellers through our relaxed social events, hosted shore tours, and daily meetups.
  • Exclusive Extras: Enjoy our signature “Gay Layer” of fabulous perks – worth over $900 – including hosted dinners, themed events, and our infamous Pop-Up Pirate Bar!
  • Hosted by Adam Bold: You’ll be looked after by Company Director Adam Bold, who brings experience, warmth, and a touch of mischief to your holiday. Think of him as your cruise concierge, friend, and unofficial tour guide all in one.

What is a gay group cruise?

This isn’t a full-ship charter, but it’s the next best thing, and far more personal. You’ll be part of a hosted LGBTQ+ group travelling together aboard a regular Royal Caribbean cruise, creating our own “gay layer” of events, experiences, and social connection onboard.

That means you still enjoy everything the ship offers, 29 bars and restaurants, thrilling entertainment, world-class amenities, but with the bonus of curated group moments, hosted dinners, and friendly faces around every corner.

Everyone is welcome to join our group, and you’re always free to explore the ship on your own terms. But if you’re looking for a community vibe, shared experiences, and space to truly be yourself,  you’ll feel right at home.

If you’re after a full-ship all-gay cruise, get in touch and we can point you in the right direction.

Travelling with Points of Difference Travel & Events means enjoying a cruise that’s elevated, engaging, and truly unforgettable. It’s the perfect mix of freedom and togetherness, with just the right amount of flair.

Days 2 & 3 – Sat 4 & Sun 5 Apr – At Sea – Play However You Like!

Two full days to unwind, explore, and make this incredible ship your own. These are yours to do as much — or as little — as you like. Lounge by the pool, indulge in a treatment at the Vitality Spa, enjoy a long lunch with new friends, or dive into the many adventures Anthem of the Seas has to offer.

Looking for something exhilarating? Try one (or all) of these guest favourites:

Prefer something more laid back? Explore the ship’s many lounges, relax with a book, book into a specialty restaurant like Jamie’s Italian or Wonderland, or treat yourself to a little retail therapy at the Royal Esplanade.

For families, the award-winning Youth Program keeps kids entertained with supervised games, events, and age-specific activities. Meanwhile, adults can simply enjoy the rare luxury of time.

Day 4 – Mon 6 Apr – Nouméa, New Caledonia

Docked: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

A melting pot of cultures and sunshine, Nouméa is the cosmopolitan capital of New Caledonia — and a perfect blend of French flair and island soul. The weather here is among the best in the South Pacific, and the city hums with energy, colour, and beachside charm.

Immerse yourself in Kanak heritage at the striking Jean-Marie Tjibaou Cultural Centre, or soak up views from the hilltop Nouméa Cathedral. Feeling adventurous? Take a ferry to Amedee Island to see the historic lighthouse and swim with turtles in crystal-clear waters.

Prefer to stay local? Relax on the golden shores of Baie des Citrons, stroll the café-lined promenade, or snorkel in Anse Vata Bay — home to vibrant coral and tropical fish.

We’ll offer suggestions for local experiences and optional group outings — or feel free to explore at your own pace. C’est magnifique!

Day 5 – Tue 7 Apr – Port Vila, Vanuatu

Docked: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Welcome to Port Vila — the vibrant capital of Vanuatu, bursting with colour, culture, and warm island hospitality. Here, French influence meets Pacific tradition in a city lined with markets, murals, and smiling Bislama-speaking locals.

Explore the town centre with its charming bistros and street stalls, or head into the rainforest to discover the stunning Mele Cascades — a series of refreshing waterfalls with easy walking trails and tropical serenity.

Want to shop like a local? Wander through Mama’s Market, where you’ll find fresh island produce, handwoven baskets, and souvenirs infused with Melanesian soul.

If you’re craving something off the beaten path, hop on a short boat ride to Pele Island — a postcard-perfect haven of palm-fringed beaches and spectacular snorkelling.

Whether you’re after nature, culture, or a perfect beach day, Port Vila has it all. We’ll be on hand to offer tips and suggestions for your best island adventure yet.

AOTS-mystery-island-vanuatu-beach-palm-tree

Day 6 – Wed 8 Apr – Mystery Island, Vanuatu

Docked: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Welcome to paradise — truly. Mystery Island is an uninhabited gem with no roads, no electricity, and no distractions. Just pure white sand, warm waters, and the sound of palm trees rustling in the breeze.

This tiny islet is only accessible by cruise ship and nearby locals from Aneityum, who arrive to share their crafts and stories when ships are in port. A gentle 30-minute walk will take you around the entire island, but the real treasures are found in its coral reefs and turquoise lagoons.

Slip on your snorkel and discover a pristine underwater world teeming with tropical fish and untouched marine life — all just metres from the shore.

Prefer to relax? Bring a towel, claim your patch of sand, and soak in the feeling of being totally off-grid. This is your tropical fantasy, brought to life.

AOTS-jamies-italian-bruschetta

Days 7 & 8 – Thu 9 & Fri 10 Apr – At Sea

Our final days at sea are all about soaking it in — the sun, the experiences, and the new friendships made along the way. These are your last chances to tick off your “must-do” list or simply unwind in your favourite spot onboard.

Whether you’re stretched out by the pool, booking a last spa treatment, or exploring one of the ship’s dazzling venues, there’s no wrong way to spend these final chapters of our South Pacific escape.

Let your tastebuds take a trip, too:

  • Coastal Kitchen: An exclusive experience for suite guests — a beautiful fusion of Mediterranean and Californian flavours, with standout Pacific Coast favourites.
  • Chops Grille: The ship’s signature steakhouse, where hand-cut prime beef, Maine lobster, and indulgent sides await.
  • Solarium Bistro: A lighter Mediterranean-inspired option with fresh flavours and al fresco vibes, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
  • The Café@Two70: A gourmet picnic-style spot with hot-pressed sandwiches, homemade soups, and crisp salads — all with stunning panoramic views.

Don’t forget: Join us for our daily hosted morning catch-up at 11:00 AM. It’s a relaxed moment to connect, share laughs, and make last plans before we return to shore.

In the unlikely event that minimum numbers are not met, Points of Difference Travel & Events reserves the right to modify or withdraw hosted components. Full cruise inclusions with Royal Caribbean International will remain unaffected.

Details correct at time of publishing. Cruise itinerary, pricing, and programme are subject to change. A name change fee of AUD $100 may apply to any Non-Refundable Fare bookings. Please refer to Royal Caribbean’s full Terms and Conditions for complete details.

Wi-Fi Package

To help keep you in the loop with group updates before and during the cruise, we use WhatsApp for messaging and communication.

As a condition of booking, at least one guest per stateroom must have a Wi-Fi package and have WhatsApp installed and active. This allows us to send important updates, schedule changes, and event announcements during your cruise.

Wi-Fi is not included in your base cruise fare with Royal Caribbean. A basic VOOM® Surf package must be purchased separately. As a general guide, pricing starts from around USD $20 per device per day, and includes access to email, messaging apps, and web browsing. Royal Caribbean occasionally offers discounts on Wi-Fi packages through their Cruise Planner.

We strongly recommend purchasing your Wi-Fi package in advance via the Royal Caribbean app once your booking is confirmed – this is usually cheaper than purchasing it onboard.

Travel Insurance

New Caledonia requires that all guests arriving onto the island have comprehensive travel insurance.

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase comprehensive travel insurance when booking their cruise. Travel insurance protects you against unexpected events such as medical emergencies, cancellations, lost luggage, or travel disruptions.

It’s important to remember that while onboard, the ship’s medical facilities are not covered by Medicare or private health insurance, and international medical expenses can be significant without proper coverage. Your policy should include cruise-specific coverage, any relevant pre-existing medical conditions, and all regions you’ll be visiting.

As the Australian Government’s SmartTraveller website advises:

“If you can’t afford travel insurance, you can’t afford to travel.”

For your convenience, we can arrange a travel insurance policy quickly and easily – often in under 10 minutes over the phone. Plus, all Island Fruits guests receive an exclusive 20% bonus discount on their policy.

👉 Already have annual cover? Please double-check that it includes cruising and covers all destinations on this itinerary.

Contact us today to arrange your cover and set sail with complete peace of mind.

Passports & Visas

It is each guest’s responsibility to ensure they hold the necessary visas for all destinations included in the cruise itinerary, including entry into New Caledonia and Vanuatu. Please check the visa requirements for your nationality well in advance to avoid any last-minute disruptions to your travel plans.

All guests must also hold a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the cruise departure date. Without the correct travel documents, you may be denied boarding or entry into certain countries – so it’s important to confirm these details early.

If you’re unsure about your passport validity or visa requirements, please reach out – we’re happy to assist and help you sail with confidence.

It’s the perfect blend of flexibility and friendly connection.

What Is a Gay Group Cruise?

A gay group cruise is a hosted travel experience where LGBTQ+ guests and allies join a dedicated social group onboard a mainstream cruise. It’s not a full-ship charter – instead, you enjoy all the features of a standard sailing, with the bonus of a welcoming, tailor-made social layer just for our group.

With Points of Difference Travel & Events, that means hosted dinners, exclusive gatherings, optional group shore excursions, pre-dinner drinks, relaxed daily catch-ups and plenty of opportunities to meet fellow travellers. We call it our “gay layer” – thoughtfully hosted, lightly structured and always fun.

You’re welcome to join as much or as little as you like. Solo travellers, couples, friends and social clubs all fit beautifully into the mix, and everyone begins the cruise with some familiar faces thanks to our pre-sailing introductions.

If you’re ever interested in a full-ship all-gay charter, just let us know – we can point you in the right direction or keep you updated on upcoming options..

How do I find the group onboard?

We’ll provide a Skeleton Schedule before the cruise outlining all our hosted group events. Each day typically includes:

  • A casual morning catch-up – usually around 11:00 AM on sea days, and earlier (8:00–9:00 AM) on port days
  • Pre-dinner drinks
  • Optional group activities such as shows, dinners, or evening events

We’ll also keep you updated via our private WhatsApp group throughout the cruise, so you’ll always know what’s happening and where to meet up.

Is participation in group activities mandatory?

Not at all! We design our hosted cruises to be as flexible as you need them to be.

You’re welcome to join in the social events, dinners, and hosted moments – or carve out your own path and dip in when it suits. Whether you’re here to make new friends, enjoy the entertainment, or simply relax with a good book and room service, your time onboard is your own.

No pressure. No awkward games. Just a friendly group and a shared vibe – join in as much or as little as you like.

How do onboard payments work?

Onboard payments are charged directly to your SeaPass card (your onboard account), similar to how you would charge expenses to a room account at a hotel. Charges for drinks, specialty dining, spa services, and onboard purchases are billed in US dollars. Daily pre-authorisations may be placed on your account throughout the cruise, so we recommend ensuring your linked credit or debit card has sufficient available funds.
