Important Information: Getting in and out of the city is different on New Years Eve. There will be road closures, on-street fencing and diversions to help people get around safely and move crowds to public transport. Trains to Circular Quay stop at 5pm until 1am. Guests should train to Wynyard Station and then walk to the venue.

Room/Weather

Current Forecast: NYE will be warm cooling in the evening!  Current forecasts are saying to expect a max. temperature of around 33°C (91°F) and evening temperature of around 19°C (66°F) making it the perfect weather to dress up!

Due to the proximity to the harbour, it may get cooler and breezy at night. Cloaking facilities are available.

General Information

Please be advised that the entire building is smoke-free. Smokers will still be able to have a quick fag, outside the building via the George Street exit. MCA Security Staff will control this access.

Now then, the event runs from 8pm SHARP until 2am and includes all fabulous food and drink, with a ‘retail’ bar running for additional spirits and bottles of French Champagne if you feel like celebrating a little bit more (accepting credit cards and EFTPOS only, no cash).

  • Dress to Impress: STRICT WHITE COCKTAIL/LOUNGE DRESS CODE. Guests must wear at least 80% white and/or silver/sparkles (excluding shoes) to gain entry to the party. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone not dressed appropriately.
MAKE A STATEMENT, BE REMEMBERED! GLAMOUR, GORGEOUSNESS & GAY!
  • How hot? It’s going to be a cool night temperature wise, so dress appropriately and remember we have cloakroom on the entry level. If you want some inspiration, check out our Dress to Impress gallery here.
  • Belle and Beau of the Ball: Yes, looking that good does have rewards! We will be awarding some gorgeous prizes for our “BEST DRESSED”.
  • Photos: We will have photographers in the room, grabbing a memory or two of the night. If you would rather not be published (or captured) just let them or us know.
  • Last drinks are called around 1.30am.
  • The fireworks are in two stunning showings: the first at 9pm and the major show at Midnight. Both are performed to synchronised soundtracks.
  • DJ Entertainment is provided by two simply marvellous Sydney DJ’s, Mark Alsop and Sveta. A highlight of the party will be the middle hour, where the two of them will go tete-a-tete, playing with each other (and us). The theme of this section will be announced shortly.
  • Our MC for the night is the incomparable Frock Hudson (MEL). Frock will keep you informed and entertained throughout the night. Watch out for the costume change at midnight though!
  • The event is a cocktail party, so there is no reserved seating. There are a number of tables and chairs to sit in, both inside and out, should you wish to sit down for the buffet or you can work the room with a glass and plate in your hand.
  • The City Of Sydney website has up to date information on what is happening throughout the city that night,  you can access it by clicking here.
