Resting in 2026 while we reimagine the next chapter

Falls Creek remains close to our hearts, and we look forward to sharing future snow adventures, mountain meetups, and queer travel experiences with our community.

Celebrating Snow, Community & Connection Since 2009

For more than a decade, Gay Ski Week Australia has brought together LGBTQ+ travellers, first-time snow bunnies, seasoned skiers, locals, friends, and mountain lovers to celebrate winter in one of Australia’s most beautiful alpine destinations.

From powder days and après sessions to lifelong friendships, cheeky adventures, and unforgettable moments on the mountain, Falls Creek has become a special place for so many within our community.

As we look ahead, we’ve made the decision to rest Gay Ski Week Australia in 2026 while we review and reimagine the next chapter of the event.

This pause comes from a place of care, responsibility, and long-term sustainability. Rather than rushing to deliver a version of the festival that doesn’t fully meet the standard we want for our guests and community, we’re taking time to thoughtfully explore new formats, stronger partnerships, and future opportunities for queer snow experiences in Australia and beyond.

While the festival itself won’t run in 2026, this certainly isn’t goodbye to the mountains. Some members of our extended crew are still keen to visit Falls Creek during the season or in spring, and there may still be opportunities for smaller queer happenings, mountain meetups, and community moments along the way.

Most importantly, we want to say thank you. Thank you to every guest, local, venue, partner, performer, host, and snow-loving legend who has helped shape the Gay Ski Week Australia story over the years. We’re incredibly proud of the community that has grown around this event and excited to see where the next chapter may lead.
